Floods, 1964

Between March 8 and March 10, 1964, 5.73 inches of rain fell in Northern Kentucky. The Ohio River rose very quickly covering West Elm Street near the Plessinger Texaco Station and Yostey's Grocery. The lower portions of the central Ludlow neighborhood also experienced high waters. Many families were forced to flee their homes. The floodwaters crested at a height of 66.5' on March 12, 1964.
