James Minogue served on the Ludlow City Council from 1921-1926. He was
Mayor of Ludlow from 1927 to 1942. He was appointed interim mayor in
1926 by the City Council. Later in that same year, he defeated Edward
L. Tavlin and Paul G. Hauck for the position. In 1942, he was defeated
for re-election by John Crow. Minogue ran for city council and won in
1950. He held a seat on council until his death.
Minogue was an employee of the Southern Railroad and resided at 36 Ash
Street. He was active in Ludlow and Kenton County civic activities,
especially in fundraising drives for victims of polio.
James Minogue died on March 12, 1958 at the age of 80. He left a widow,
Clara Bamberger Minogue, and three sons: Joseph Minogue, James Minogue,
and Vincent Minogue. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. James
Church, Ludlow on March 15, 1958 and burial took place at St. Joseph
Cemetery, Cincinnati.
