A life-long resident of the City of Ludlow, Farrell served eight 2-year
terms on council and one four-year term as mayor (1970-1973). Farrell
was also a former member of the Ludlow Volunteer Fire Department.
John Farrell was born in the family home on Victoria Street on June
2, 1933. He attended St. James Elementary School and Ludlow High School.
Farrell earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati's
College of Pharmacy in 1951. He worked in the family pharmacy on Elm
Street for the next 44 years. Farrell retired in 1995.
Jack Farrell was a member of Sts. Boniface and James Church in Ludlow
and was also a member of the Kehoe Council Knights of Columbus. Farrell
died on January 16, 2001, at the age of 72. Mass of Christian burial
was held at Sts. Boniface and James Church on January 20, 2001 with
burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Fort Mitchell. One brother and two sisters
survived him.
